Ain’t It Cool News has been very supportive of Brian Andersen and CBG Comics :)
Last year I received 3 incredible art pieces, one was from Jimmy Misanthrope from The Vortex Machine and two were from Chase Bowman from The Sleepy Sickness.
This is Voltage drawn by Jimmy and I really like his take on my character. I’ve known Jimmy since Myspace and it’s always a treat to see what he creates. We’ve received fan art before from him the very first being an image of Rita the Rag Doll from Red Town. We are looking forward to that being in the pin-up section when we get the book to print. I met Chase Bowman through Brian Andersen and wow, the work that Chase creates is amazing. From superheroes to haunting pieces feat. Annie Oakley. I was given this beautiful Rogue piece along with:
a gnarly looking zombie. Ooooo! Both were received around Thanksgiving so it’s been a long time that I’ve been wanting to put up these pieces up on my blog and give the recognition they deserve. It’s hard to believe that I can call these works of art mine and to say “hey I know those guys.”
I hope that you’ll check out the links to see even more work from Jimmy and Chase. You won’t be disappointed.
It’s tough sometimes for me to show praise to fellow artists becaus I feel like i’m goshing when really what I’d like to do is just say that the artists I mention are a big influence on me and are really cool to know.
